The Honourable Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment as a central pillar of Nigeria’s economic transformation strategy.
Speaking at the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Convening and Midpoint Review held at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, she emphasized that the country has moved beyond policy design into full implementation and execution.
Representing the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Uzoka-Anite noted that the government’s current priority is mobilizing capital at scale and ensuring that budgeting processes are not only gender-responsive but also focused on measurable, outcome-driven results.
She stressed that closing financing and market access gaps for women remains one of the most effective pathways to building a more resilient and inclusive Nigerian economy.
According to her, the administration is committed to strengthening accountability mechanisms and delivering tangible results that improve the economic opportunities available to women across the country.
The event brought together policymakers, development partners, and stakeholders focused on accelerating progress toward gender-inclusive economic growth and assessing mid-term achievements in ongoing empowerment initiatives.
