ENUGU — Enugu State is edging closer to the opening of the much-anticipated Enugu International Hospital, following the completion of the facility’s final inspection.
Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah said the completion of the inspection marks a major step towards commissioning the hospital, which is expected to strengthen access to quality healthcare for residents of Enugu and people across the South-East.
According to the governor, the facility is designed to raise the standard of healthcare available in the state and reduce the need for residents to travel outside the region in search of specialised medical services.
“With the final inspection now complete, we are one step closer to commissioning a facility that will raise the standard of healthcare available in Enugu and across the region,” Mbah said.
He added that the state was “almost ready to open our doors and provide the much-needed, high-quality healthcare our people deserve.”
The development is being seen as more than the completion of another major infrastructure project. For families who struggle with the cost and stress of seeking advanced medical care outside Enugu, the hospital could represent easier access to quality treatment closer to home.
With the final checks completed, attention is now turning to commissioning and the commencement of services.
