Lagos, Nigeria – Group Chief Executive Officer of Livespot360, Deola Art Alade, has called on founders and business executives to embrace greater discernment and stewardship as their organizations grow, stressing that leadership extends beyond expansion to building enduring value for people, partnerships, and the broader business ecosystem.

In an open letter addressed to fellow founders and executives, the Harvard Business School alumna reflected on how organizational growth changes not only a company’s ambitions but also the responsibilities of its leaders.

According to her, while entrepreneurs initially focus on solving problems, creating opportunities, and driving business growth, scaling an organization requires leaders to become more intentional about where they invest their time, energy, and resources.

She noted that today’s business environment presents executives with an increasing number of opportunities, partnerships, and strategic initiatives, making discernment a critical leadership skill.

Art Alade encouraged leaders to continually evaluate which opportunities align with their long-term vision, which decisions empower their teams to perform at their best, and when it is appropriate to postpone initiatives that may not fit current priorities.

Describing leadership as an act of stewardship, she emphasized that executives are entrusted with the careers of their employees, the ambitions of their clients, and the confidence of their business partners, making every leadership decision an opportunity to strengthen trust and shape organizational culture.

She also observed that her definition of success has evolved beyond financial performance to include developing people, building stronger partnerships, and creating organizations capable of delivering sustained value long after individual projects are completed.

Looking ahead, Art Alade said the future would belong to organizations that make creativity sustainable, create meaningful long-term careers, support the growth of creative enterprises, and provide greater opportunities for talent to thrive while strengthening Africa’s creative economy.

She concluded by encouraging business leaders to remain curious, continue learning, and recognize that every stage of growth presents new leadership challenges and opportunities to become better stewards of the people and responsibilities entrusted to them.
