The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced the postponement of its inaugural Public Relations, Reputation, Ideas, Concepts and Excellence (PRICE) Awards and Prizes from the originally scheduled date of December 7, 2025, to January 25, 2026.
The decision to reschedule the event was made to accommodate key stakeholders, many of whom have begun their festive season engagements earlier than expected, ensuring that no one is left behind in the maiden edition of the awards.
Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Committee for the NIPR Annual PRICE Awards, explained the rationale for the change:
“The adjustment of the awards date allows us to ensure full participation from all stakeholders and provide an event that is truly reflective of the excellence, creativity, and innovation within Nigeria’s public relations sector. We are committed to delivering a world-class ceremony that will celebrate outstanding professionals, campaigns, and organizations while enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness and reputation in the global PR ecosystem.”
The PRICE Awards were conceived as a credible and enduring platform to identify, recognize, and elevate individuals, campaigns, and organizations shaping the public relations landscape across Nigeria. The initiative gained momentum in September 2025, when Dr. Ike Neliaku, President and Chairman of the NIPR Council, inaugurated a 12-member organizing committee to oversee the maiden edition.
Israel Opayemi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, also reassured stakeholders of the committee’s commitment to excellence: the January 25 ceremony will provide an unmatched experience, motivating practitioners, scholars, and professionals while strengthening brand equity for NIPR and its members.
The NIPR Council had earlier adopted recommendations from a technical team charged with developing the awards, emphasizing integrity, transparency, and recognition of merit as guiding principles.
With the rescheduled date now set, stakeholders are being encouraged to update their calendars and prepare for what promises to be a landmark event in Nigeria’s public relations calendar.
