Tech Icons Receive Lifetime Achievement Honours at 2026 Titans of Tech Africa Awards

LAGOS, Nigeria – The 2026 edition of the Titans of Tech Africa Awards delivered an evening of glamour, innovation and recognition as leading technology professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders gathered to celebrate individuals and organisations driving Africa’s digital transformation.

Speaking at the event, Don Pedro Aganbi, Convener of the Titans of Tech Africa Awards, said the annual platform was created to recognise outstanding innovators and visionary leaders whose contributions continue to redefine Africa’s technology landscape.

“The Titans of Tech Africa Awards celebrates excellence, innovation and leadership while inspiring the next generation of technology pioneers across the continent,” he said.

One of the highpoints of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards to two distinguished technology icons whose decades of service have left an enduring impact on Africa’s digital ecosystem.

Professor Adenike Osofisan, widely regarded as Africa’s First Lady of Computer Science, was honoured for her pioneering leadership in computer science, her unwavering commitment to advancing technology education, and her relentless advocacy for women in technology. A former President and Chairman-in-Council of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Professor Osofisan has inspired generations of innovators and remains one of the continent’s most respected technology leaders.

Also honoured was Deji Oguntonade, recognised for his instrumental role in transforming Nigeria’s digital payment ecosystem and helping accelerate the country’s fintech revolution. Celebrated as a visionary who helped build the foundations of digital payments in Nigeria, Oguntonade was acknowledged for his contributions to financial innovation and the growth of Africa’s digital economy.

The 2026 Titans of Tech Africa Awards concluded with renewed calls for greater collaboration, innovation and investment in Africa’s technology sector, reaffirming its position as one of the continent’s foremost platforms for recognising excellence and celebrating the innovators shaping the future of technology.
