NNPC Debunks Viral Video Alleging Poor Fuel Quality

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has strongly refuted claims made in a viral video suggesting that its fuel does not last. The company described the allegations as false, misleading, and lacking any scientific or professional basis.

In an official statement, NNPC Ltd dismissed the video as the product of unverified and amateur research, emphasizing that its fuel is carefully formulated to ensure efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability.

The company further clarified that a significant portion of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos—where the video originated—is sourced from the Dangote Refinery. The refinery adheres to strict industry standards, ensuring the quality of petroleum products supplied to consumers.

NNPC Ltd also condemned the video as an attempt by “economic saboteurs” to mislead the public and damage the company’s reputation. It warned that legal action would be taken against individuals or groups found spreading false information about its operations.

The company urged Nigerians to disregard the misleading video and rely on verified sources for accurate information. NNPC Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the availability, affordability, and quality of fuel in line with global industry standards.
