In a show of solidarity and compassion, the management team of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) paid a condolence visit to the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator (Dr.) Akon Eyakenyi, following the tragic passing of her daughter, Mrs. Blessing Eyakenyi-Adewumi.
The delegation, led by the NDDC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, included the Executive Director of Projects, Sir Victor Antai, and the Executive Director of Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde. The visit aimed to express their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and offer support during this difficult time.
During the visit, Dr. Ogbuku conveyed the deep sorrow felt by the NDDC over the loss of Mrs. Eyakenyi-Adewumi, who was a valued staff member of the commission. He described her as a dedicated professional whose contributions to the NDDC would be remembered.
The delegation extended words of comfort to Senator Eyakenyi and her family, acknowledging the immense grief that comes with losing a loved one. They also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and strength for the family to bear the irreparable loss.
