The responsibility of a man – Fred Obetoh

In today’s world, the line of manhood and fatherhood is being blurred by a lot of thing but in biblical context, the position of man is clear and Bible isn’t in tune or tandem with modern concept such as feminism and single parenthood. The Bible has made it clear the function and role of a man in the church, society family and this is a standard procedure that every male folk that calls himself a husband must follow – religiously

A man must meet up to the the needs of the family . A man that can’t provide for his family is worst that an infidel… So we have to be guided as a man. Husband is the Head of the family… That is a clear instruction in the Bible. For a husband to be in charge of wife the way Christ is in charge of church. The role of a husband isn’t contestable in the family. Though some folks that are on the feminist side might see this position as mysogionistic but that is the role of a man.

As a man we ought to know our responsibilities and be able to fulfil it. The role of a man puts tremendous responsibility on the shoulders as a man. Don’t let any man or pastor tell you that the woman is the Co-head. This is the position. Now that you got married as a woman, are you bearing your father’s name? This is a global norm and that means that you are under a man. This is just the fact.

Most of times the roles of men are being blurred based on so many factors and that can be understandable but we must know that the man has his own bespoke position and defined power in the family. It is a crazy woman that questions many decision of the man. Men naturally apply wisdom before they do things.

Many homes in today’s world are in disarray due to the way media has made it look cool and nice being a single mother. The departure of fathers in the home always have adverse effects on the woman and the family.

But, men must understand that being the head of family and whom the decision making process rest on shouldn’t make him a dictator or a tyrant. He must understand that he must carry everyone along and keep them abreast in his decision making process… He must also know that he isn’t meant to be a dictator but a loving father.

A man must know that he must be there for the kids and the family. You must be a provider of things not only emotional, financial or social, you must also be there as a psychological support. The role is massive and huge.

Men must know that a woman is the helpmate or assistant to the raising of kids and family. But there is a caveat here, the Man must be up and doing and have something doing not laying about thinking that the woman will fill-in the gaps. Who does that! Being a man isn’t a day’s job that is a popular cliche and that is a truism. Not shouting “I am the man”

In 1st Timothy 8 the Bible said the role of the man and there is also a responsibility of a man to train the kids. You don’t sire kids like chicken and expect relatives to take care of children. It is the function of the man to take care of the children and don’t ever expect your rich uncles or relatives to take care of the kids. Man up and live up to your responsibilities.

The responsibility of the man is clear. Now the children are doing exams and the Christmas is coming it is the responsibility of the man to provide holidays and happiness for them, so why not take care and born the kids that you can take care of not during 20 kids in the name of looking for a son.

Though, the media is trying everything to blur marriage and make singlehood and single parents attractive but we must know that it is not what God want from us as a Christian. God designed it as a family which is made up of a man and a woman. This is the standard not singlehood or LGTB family.

Federal Government Takes Decisive Action, Revokes 924 Dormant Mining Licenses

In a significant move aimed at revitalizing the mining sector, the Federal Government has revoked a total of 924 dormant licenses covering exploration, mining, small-scale mining, and quarrying activities. The announcement came during a press conference on Wednesday, led by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake.

Dr. Alake underscored that the decision was made in accordance with constitutional provisions and after providing adequate notice to concerned parties through the official Gazette of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, No. 227, issued on December 27, 2023. He emphasized that license holders were given a 30-day window to rectify their dormant status, with 39 licensees either resuming operations or presenting valid reasons for their inactivity.
