Ingentia Energies Limited has appointed Engr. Charles Odita as its Interim Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2026.
The company said the appointment is part of efforts by its Board of Directors to ensure leadership continuity as it works towards appointing a substantive Managing Director/CEO.
Odita is expected to build on the operational and strategic foundation established by his predecessor while sustaining and accelerating the company’s growth ambitions in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector.
Speaking on his appointment, Odita expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by the Board, pledging to maintain the company’s operational momentum and advance its growth plans.
“I am deeply honoured by the trust placed in me by the Board. I am committed to building on the excellent work already done, maintaining operational momentum, and delivering on our ambitious growth plans with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and value creation for all stakeholders,” he said.
Odita brings extensive experience in the energy industry, with a career spanning technical operations, strategic management and executive leadership. The company said his industry experience and track record position him to provide effective leadership during the transition while ensuring continuity across its operations and strategic priorities.
Under his interim leadership, Ingentia Energies is expected to continue advancing key milestones recorded by the company in recent years. These include the successful conversion of Petroleum Prospecting Licence (PPL) 202 to Petroleum Mining Lease (PML) 66, the commencement of first oil production, crude oil evacuation, as well as drilling and field development activities.
The company said it remains focused on its ambition of becoming a leading independent energy player in Africa.
As part of its long-term growth strategy, Ingentia Energies is targeting a substantial increase in production capacity, with plans to scale output to approximately 30,000 barrels of oil per day by 2030.
During the interim leadership period, the company will focus on advancing critical initiatives, including drilling campaigns, infrastructure development, production optimisation and the implementation of sustainable operational practices.
The company will also continue the process of appointing a substantive Managing Director/CEO.
The Board, management and staff of Ingentia Energies expressed their appreciation to Odita for accepting the responsibility and reaffirmed their confidence in his ability to provide strategic direction and strengthen the company’s operational performance.
They also reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining its core values of safety, innovation, professionalism and value creation for its stakeholders, including shareholders, host communities, regulators and the wider Nigerian economy.
