Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructure development following a meeting with the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, to review progress on the Bodo–Bonny Road project.
The Deputy Managing Director of NLNG, Mr. Olakunle Osobu, said the engagement focused on strengthening collaboration between NLNG and the Federal Government to ensure the successful delivery of the landmark road.
The Bodo–Bonny Road, when completed, will for the first time provide a direct road link between Bonny Island and the Rivers State mainland, significantly improving connectivity and socio-economic opportunities for surrounding communities.
“The road will link Bonny Island to the Rivers State mainland for the first time, and NLNG is collaborating with the Government of Nigeria to achieve this. It will make a huge difference for so many people, both on the island and on the mainland, when it opens,” Osobu said.
He expressed appreciation for the partnership among the various stakeholders involved in the project and noted that preparations are underway for its formal opening later in the year.
Osobu added that NLNG’s investments in infrastructure, alongside its healthcare, education, and social programmes, reflect the company’s long-term commitment to national development.
“Investing in infrastructure like this, as well as our healthcare, education and other programmes, is an investment in building a sustainable future for Nigerians,” he said.
