Lebara Network Set to Launch in Nigeria as Company Aligns with National Digital Economy Agenda

As Nigeria accelerates efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and expand nationwide connectivity, Lebara Network has confirmed major progress toward its highly anticipated launch in the country. The development comes amid growing optimism within the tech and telecommunications sector, following key engagements between Lebara executives and government officials.

Teni Stuffman, tech entrepreneur and leader driving the company’s Nigeria rollout, revealed that the upcoming launch represents more than the introduction of a new telecom operator. According to him, it marks a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s digital transformation and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Speaking after a meeting with the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, Stuffman described the session as “an honour,” praising the minister’s commitment to digital infrastructure development, artificial intelligence, and national skills advancement. He noted that Dr. Tijani’s agenda signals that Nigeria is entering “a new era of innovation.”

Central to this transformation is Project BRIDGE, the federal government’s ambitious $2 billion initiative to deploy 90,000 kilometres of fibre-optic cable across the country. The project aims to strengthen nationwide connectivity, improve broadband penetration, and create the foundation for digital inclusion at scale. Industry observers believe this infrastructure will be critical for the success of new entrants like Lebara and for the expansion of Nigeria’s digital economy.

Stuffman emphasised that Lebara’s entry into the Nigerian market is tied directly to these ongoing national initiatives. He explained that the company intends to operate not simply as a telecom service provider, but as “an enabler” supporting a more connected and empowered society. A key part of its strategy involves collaborating with the government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, through which Lebara is already investing in the skills and capabilities of young Nigerians ahead of its operational launch.

“It’s not just about telecommunications,” Stuffman said. “A strong digital economy is built on the creativity and technical strength of its people. That’s why we’re investing early — to help develop the talent that will build the future.”

He added that entrepreneurship remains central to Nigeria’s growth, noting that entrepreneurs create solutions, drive value, and shape national progress. With Nigeria’s youthful population and expanding digital landscape, he believes platforms like Lebara will unlock new opportunities for innovation and economic participation.

As the company prepares to go live, Stuffman described the journey as one rooted in purpose, impact, and national contribution. He expressed confidence that Lebara will help push Nigeria toward a future where connectivity becomes a right rather than a privilege, and where young people are equipped with the skills needed to compete globally.

“Every step counts,” he said. “Every impact matters. And with Lebara, we’re ready to make each one meaningful.”

Lebara’s official launch date in Nigeria is expected to be announced soon, with industry analysts watching closely as the company positions itself to become one of the key players in the country’s evolving telecom landscape.
