Patience Fakai, Honourable Commissioner for Business Innovation, commended the recent launch of the AI for Beginners in Hausa Language programme. The event, held on April 30th, 2024, at the prestigious Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall, marked a significant milestone in democratizing AI knowledge across diverse demographics.
Organized by DSNai – Data Science Nigeria, in collaboration with Google.org, the initiative offers a comprehensive package of 40 short, animated learning videos available in both Hausa and English. Aimed at empowering individuals with AI literacy, the programme received enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA Nigeria), the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and MindThe_GapNg.
Underlining Kaduna State’s pivotal role in technological advancement, Commissioner Fakai highlighted the state’s proactive approach in adopting the National Startup Act at the sub-national level. This commitment was evidenced by the establishment of the Kaduna State Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship, following the enactment of the Tech-enabled Startup Law in July 2023.
Commissioner Fakai extended heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders and recognized the exemplary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Senator Uba Sani, represented at the event by Her Excellency, Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
