The Presidency and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at developing the human capital and technical expertise needed to drive Nigeria’s evolving energy sector.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Olu Verheijen, following a courtesy visit by the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu.
According to Verheijen, the meeting focused on identifying opportunities for deeper collaboration in advancing human capital development, enhancing technical expertise, and strengthening Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem to support the country’s changing energy landscape.
She acknowledged the PTDF’s longstanding role in building industry capacity through education, research, and professional development initiatives, describing the agency as a critical institution in Nigeria’s energy sector.
Verheijen expressed optimism that closer cooperation between the Presidency and the PTDF would accelerate efforts to build a highly skilled workforce, foster innovation, and create sustainable value for the energy industry and the Nigerian people.
The renewed partnership aligns with the Federal Government’s broader objective of positioning Nigeria’s energy sector for long-term growth, competitiveness, and energy security through strategic investments in talent development and innovation.
