MyCard Tech Solutions Drives Social Impact by Equipping Lagos Youths with Practical AI Skills

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the auditorium of RCCG The Faith City in Ogba, Lagos became a space of learning, curiosity, and possibility as young people gathered for a hands-on artificial intelligence masterclass themed “NEXTGEN AI: Unlocking the Future.” The program was organized by MyCard Tech Solutions Limited in partnership with a Redeem Christian Church of God, RCCG ,The Faith City at 5 Adeniji Street, Off College Road, Ogba, Lagos , reflecting a shared commitment to social impact and youth empowerment through practical digital skills.

What stood out immediately was the atmosphere. It didn’t feel like a traditional seminar or lecture. It felt more like a shared workspace where young people were actively trying things out, asking questions, and discovering how artificial intelligence can actually fit into their everyday lives. Laptops were open, ideas were flowing, and the focus was clearly on learning by doing.

Even though the event was hosted in a faith-based environment, it was intentionally inclusive. Young people from different faith backgrounds were welcomed without looking at their difference which is in line with Christian principle of love thy neighbor, and that openness helped create a sense of unity around a common goal: preparing for a fast-changing digital world. It was less about labels and more about access, opportunity, and growth.

A total of 116 participants registered through Google Forms, while others joined virtually from different parts of the world. That mix of physical and online participation added an interesting dimension to the experience, showing how digital learning can break boundaries and bring people into the same room regardless of location.

Throughout the session, facilitators focused on making artificial intelligence feel practical and approachable. Instead of overwhelming participants with theory, they demonstrated real tools and real use cases,how AI can support content creation, improve productivity, open remote job opportunities, and even help launch small digital businesses.

One of the guest speakers, Mr. Ayodeji Olotu, emphasized that AI is no longer a future conversation but a present reality shaping industries across the world. He stressed that young people who learn to engage with these tools early are better positioned to thrive in an economy that is rapidly becoming digital-first.

Adding an international perspective, Mr. Ibrahim Adebayo joined the session via Zoom from the United Kingdom and spoke directly to the participants:

“AI is not just changing industries,it is changing access to opportunity. The young people who learn how to use it well now will be the ones defining the global workforce in the years ahead.”

His message reinforced a central theme of the event: that technology, when understood and applied correctly, can become a bridge rather than a barrier.

Speaking on behalf of the organizers, Mr. Kayode Akinwale, Founder and Product Architect of MyCard Tech Solutions Limited, explained that the initiative was driven by a deeper vision of social impact. According to him, real transformation happens when organizations invest not just in technology, but in people. He emphasized that equipping young people with AI skills is one of the most effective ways to unlock long-term economic mobility and reduce inequality in access to opportunity.

Representatives from the host faith community, including Pastor Emmanuel Akhigbe of RCCG The Faith City, also highlighted the importance of holistic development. He spoke about the need to prepare young people not only spiritually, but also intellectually and practically, so they can confidently navigate the realities of today’s global economy.

By the end of the program, seven participants were awarded six-week AI training scholarships, giving them extended access to structured learning, mentorship, and deeper technical development. For those selected, it marked not just recognition, but an entry point into a longer journey of growth.

Beyond the classroom experience, the broader impact of the initiative lies in its intent. By making high-quality digital education accessible at no cost, the program helps reduce inequality in access to tech opportunities. It also channels youthful energy into productive skill-building, offering a pathway toward global relevance, remote work, and digital entrepreneurship.

This inaugural edition of the program also signals something bigger in motion. MyCard Tech Solutions has expressed its intention to make this an annual initiative, building on what was achieved and expanding its reach in the years ahead. What began as a single training session is now positioned as a growing platform for sustained social impact and youth development.
