The Honourable Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, has received a delegation from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) during a courtesy visit to the Ministry in Abuja.
During the visit, the student body presented the minister with a National Outstanding Award in recognition of her contributions to national development and youth-focused policy initiatives.
The delegation, led by student representatives including Hon. Mohammed Abdul Razaq, emphasized the importance of sustained engagement between government institutions and Nigeria’s student population in shaping the country’s future.
Uzoka-Anite described the recognition as a reflection of the importance of youth inclusion in governance and national development planning. She reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to policies that prioritize youth empowerment, job creation, and inclusive economic growth.
She noted that the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning remains focused on implementing the National Development Plan, which is designed to drive long-term economic transformation and support Nigeria’s ambition of building a trillion-dollar economy.
According to her, a key pillar of this strategy is investment in human capital, with particular emphasis on young people as the country’s most valuable resource.
The minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to create enabling environments for entrepreneurship, skills development, and employment generation as part of broader economic reform initiatives.
Student representatives reaffirmed their willingness to contribute to national development conversations and advocate for policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of young Nigerians.
