Airtel Nigeria has commenced a weeklong engagement with the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, beginning with its participation at the 3MTT National Impact Summit held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in Abuja.
The summit, attended by industry leaders, ecosystem partners, and government officials, was held under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. It was hosted by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.
The event highlighted key milestones of the 3MTT initiative, showcasing innovation within Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, celebrating emerging technical talents, and reaffirming the country’s ambition to build one of the world’s largest pools of digital professionals.
Airtel Nigeria reiterated its support for the government’s digital economy agenda, noting that its investment in the 3MTT NextGen Fellowship will contribute to training 25,000 young Nigerians across 46 local government areas. The programme will provide hands-on learning, mentorship, and practical exposure to digital skills.
As part of its commitment, Airtel Nigeria announced the start of a nationwide series of interactive visits to 3MTT Applied Learning Centres (ALCs), beginning Friday, December 12, in Lagos. The roadshow aims to assess progress, engage learners and facilitators, and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration within the digital training ecosystem.
The company commended President Tinubu and Minister Tijani for the strides recorded through the 3MTT programme, describing the initiative as a landmark step toward strengthening Nigeria’s digital inclusion agenda under the Airtel Africa Foundation.
