In her speech, Minister Ade-John commended His Royal Highness, Prince Abiola Kosoko, the Oloja of Lagos Elect, for his unwavering dedication to preserving and promoting Nigeria’s cultural traditions. She highlighted the importance of the event, not merely as a historical commemoration but as a platform that fosters unity and instills a sense of national pride among Nigerians.

She pointed out that while tourism contributed nearly 5% to the country’s GDP in 2019, the sector still holds significant room for growth. She advocated for increased focus on domestic tourism, encouraging Nigerians to explore the country’s over 1,000 cultural assets and more than 800 festivals.
“The tourism potential in Nigeria is vast, and events like the King Kosoko celebration showcase our unique culture and history, offering both local and international visitors a glimpse of our greatness,” she remarked.
In her closing remarks, the Minister reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Tourism’s commitment to advancing Nigeria’s cultural and tourism sectors, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
