To serve God you must hate your life and worldliness. In John 12 vs 26 was clear on this. A farmer can understand that for a seed to grow, it must die and germinate. Every Christian must look at the life of Jesus Christ , he is the one that should be a role model. Here , the old life must die to be born again for you to be a true Christian. It is called mortification of the flesh. In a nutshel it is the ability to kill the things of the flesh and focus on the things of the spirit.
Everyone that one to serve God must die to himself pr herself, literally meaning that you must eschew the former life . In 2nd Corinthians 1: 9 expresses this viewpoint on the death to oneself and evolve in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 6 vs 7 – 8 said that anything that a man sowes he reaps. We must sow in the spirit because the flesh would go one day. 1st Peter 4:1 encouraged us arm ourselves and focus on Jesus Christ.
Many Christians today are visibly confuses on what to do and how to focus their lives, but the bible said that we should kill the skin and bring up the spirit. That is the standard procedure.
in the world today, social media has made Christian to loose focus with a lot of nudity, gossip and all whatnot, how can a true Christian be involved in such a worldliness! Every proper Christian must know the things of the flesh and kill it.
According to Wikipedia, “The term “mortification of the flesh” comes from the Book of Romans in the Christian Bible: “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.” The same idea is seen in the following verses: “Put to death what is earthly in you.”
Before any harvest, there must the regeneration and evolution. The seed must first die and germinate, you must kill the flesh , be born again and have to live daily for Christ! That is death to self. The key to living is dying in Christ! The gift of God is eternal life.
Jesus Christ freely laid down his life for us to enjoy. Anything that you can’t freely lay down for God can’t multiply! The reason why some of us are lonely is becuse there is no death to self. We allow things to so offend us and we keep animosity and anger in us and this isn’t what any Christian must do. There must be death to self.
As we worship God, we must do that in truth and part of this is being honest and kill all the fleshy attributes in us . Romans 12 vs 1 pointed to this out. Bible said that anyone who wants to save his life would loose it.
