The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has paid a working visit to Ekiti State, where she was received by Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the First Lady of the state, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji.
Speaking on the visit, Ekiti State Commissioner for Investment, Trade and Industry, Omotayo Adeola, described the occasion as a reflection of the strong collaboration between the Federal Government and Ekiti State in promoting people-centred development initiatives.
According to Adeola, the visit highlighted ongoing efforts to advance women’s empowerment, education, and human capital development through programmes such as the Renewed Hope Initiative, which he said continues to impact women, youths, and vulnerable groups across the country.
A major highlight of the visit was the commissioning of a new ICT Building at Ekiti State University in Ado-Ekiti. The facility is expected to strengthen digital learning, innovation, and technology-driven education within the institution.
Adeola noted that the project aligns with the state’s vision of fostering economic growth through knowledge, technology, and enterprise, while positioning Ekiti as a leading hub for innovation and talent development.
The visit also featured the flag-off of the APC Women Campaign, which attracted broad participation and underscored the role of women in governance, community development, and democratic engagement.
State officials expressed appreciation to the First Lady and the Federal Government for their continued support of programmes aimed at expanding opportunities and promoting sustainable development across Ekiti State.
