Last week, NigComSat Ltd advanced Nigeria’s technology and space ecosystem through a series of strategic engagements. Our MD/CEO, Jane Egerton-Idehen, Engaged in discussions with Christopher Gwabin Musa (Minister of Defence) ,Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke (Chief of Air Staff) and Interviews with Trust Tv and Arise TV on the critical role of indigenous satellite technology in national security and resilient communications.
At the National Space Council, NigComSat contributed to reviewing Nigeria’s Space Roadmap, collaborating with ecosystem experts including Prof. Dr. Matthew Adepoju (DG National Space Research & Development Agency (NASRDA), Major General Phillips Illodibia (DSA), ONSA,Nigerian Communication Commission NCC, National Broadcasting Commission(NBC) Nigeria NBC, and other council members to align strategic priorities and advance Nigeria’s space capabilities.
The week ended on a high note with a courtesy visit from YWCA FCT Zone 2 led by Nana Gbolahan and the NigComSat “Give to Gain” International Women’s Day event with Chinwe Udogu,ACIPM , Ibiye Ukoko, Omite Ali ,Engr Nkem Umeh making the events memorable.

The Managing Director/CEO of NigComSat Ltd, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, recently led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chief of Air Staff of the Nigerian Air Force,Air Marshall Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at the Air Force Headquarters.
The engagement provided a strategic platform to explore the role of satellite communications in enhancing secure operations, strengthening coordination, and supporting Nigeria’s broader digital and security infrastructure.
In his remarks, the Chief of Air Staff underscored the increasing importance of space-enabled capabilities in modern military operations, while acknowledging NigComSat’s contributions to national development and security.

The Managing Director/CEO, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, recently joined fellow members of the National Space Council at a high level session focused on strengthening coordination and driving the integration of space-based solutions into Nigeria’s socio-economic development and national security framework.
As the apex policy-making body for space activities, the Council remains instrumental in aligning stakeholders and advancing strategic priorities across the sector. A key outcome of the meeting was the constitution of a Working Group to review and update Nigeria’s 25-Year Space Roadmap.
This initiative brings together leading institutions, including the National Space Research and Development Agency, Office of the National Security Adviser, Nigerian Communications Commission, Defence Space Administration, and the National Broadcasting Commission, alongside NigComSat and distinguished experts across the space ecosystem.
Through its active participation, NigComSat remains committed to delivering innovative and satellite solutions, strengthening Nigeria’s strategic capabilities, and positioning the country as a leader in the global space sector.

She also highlighted upcoming plans to commemorate NigComSat’s 20th Anniversary during Satellite Week, reflecting on two decades of innovation and impact in delivering satellite enabled solutions.
Looking ahead, she emphasized the critical role of Nigeria’s satellite ecosystem indriving socio-economic growth, enhancing national security, and positioning the country for greater global competitiveness.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, NigComSat Ltd had the privilege of hosting a delegation from the Young Women’s Christian Association (@ycwaafricanchurchfct), FCT Zone 2.
The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/CEO, Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, engaging in meaningful discussions centered on leadership, impact, and the critical role of women in shaping the future of technology and space innovation.
the delegation includes Baboshiya Ayuba,Loveth Ani,Olabummi Ajibade,Chidimma Iwuanyawu, Chioma Cyril Oleh and Grace Yahaya ,their leader Nana Gbolahan expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the MD/CEO’s influence within the space sector, noting the value of shared experiences and the inspiration to drive impact within their respective spheres.

In honor of this year’s International Women’s Day, NigComSat Ltd proudly hosted its “Give to Gain” event,a day dedicated to celebrating women’s achievements in the organization.
The programme featured an insightful career development session, providing guidance on navigating challenges, seizing leadership opportunities, and advancing professional goals. A dynamic panel discussion, anchored by Omite Ali and featuring Ibiye Ukoko (Head of Sales), Engr Nkem Umeh, and Yemi, brought together experienced professionals to share practical strategies and inspiring stories on excelling in today’s evolving work environment. Participants were also energized by a friendly competition with exciting prizes, alongside music and dancing that added a lively celebratory spirit to the occasion.
