The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has convened a new edition of its Virtual Privacy Academy (VPA) Breakfast Meeting, drawing participation from data protection experts, compliance officers, policymakers, and technology innovators for an in-depth conversation on advancing Nigeria’s privacy and data governance ecosystem.
The interactive session underscored the central role of the Virtual Privacy Academy in expanding professional capacity within the data protection field. Speakers highlighted how the platform continues to enhance regulatory understanding while promoting responsible data-handling practices across public and private sector institutions.
Participants reviewed emerging challenges facing Nigeria’s digital landscape, including rising cyber risks and rapid technological change, and discussed practical strategies to improve compliance readiness nationwide. The meeting also explored opportunities for continuous learning, cross-sector collaboration, and the development of more robust privacy frameworks.
The Commission urged attendees to share feedback aimed at enriching the VPA experience and strengthening upcoming editions of the programme.
