The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, welcomed a high-level Canadian delegation on Tuesday to discuss enhancing business ties between Canada and Nigeria, as well as broader African markets. The delegation was led by Okey Enelamah, Co-founder and Chairman of African Capital Alliance (ACA), and included Victor Dodig, President and CEO of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and Chairman of the Business Council of Canada (BCC).
This significant visit, organized in collaboration with the Business Council of Canada and the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria, focused on the CBN’s objectives and strategies to promote macroeconomic stability and spur economic growth. Discussions also encompassed amplifying societal impacts across key areas such as job creation, education, and environmental sustainability.
The meeting underscores a commitment to fostering stronger economic and business relationships between Canada and Nigeria, aiming for mutual growth and development in various sectors.
