ABUJA, NIGERIA — Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, has emphasized that Africa’s digital economy is rapidly transitioning from a policy objective into a concrete reality, driven by local innovators and policymakers across the continent.
Speaking on the sidelines of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Digital Trade Forum, Dr. Oduwole hosted key tech innovators, creatives, and policymakers at a networking event dubbed the ‘Ginger & Jollof’ mixer, following the conclusion of the forum’s first day.
The Minister highlighted the gathering as a vital platform for ecosystem collaboration, aimed at accelerating regional integration and building a seamless African market.
“Africa’s digital future isn’t just a policy goal—it is actively being built by the brilliant minds in this space,” Dr. Oduwole stated. She noted that fostering these connections is essential to transforming regional potential into a “unified, prosperous, and borderless market.”
The AfCFTA Digital Trade Forum continues to serve as a pivotal staging ground for alignment on digital commerce protocols, as member states push to harmonize regulations and unlock cross-border tech trade across the continent.
