Nigeria is taking significant steps toward developing a clean hydrogen ecosystem as part of its broader energy transition agenda, according to the Director General, Mustapha Abdullahi.
Speaking on the country’s commitment to sustainable energy development, Abdullahi said Nigeria is leveraging strategic collaborations with foreign partners and key stakeholders to establish a robust clean hydrogen sector capable of enhancing national competitiveness, creating employment opportunities, and strengthening energy security.
He noted that the government’s focus on clean hydrogen underscores its determination to adopt innovative energy solutions that drive economic growth while addressing the impacts of climate change.
“Through strategic collaboration with our foreign partners and stakeholders, Nigeria is laying the foundation for a clean hydrogen ecosystem that will enhance competitiveness, create jobs, and strengthen national energy resilience,” Abdullahi stated.
He added that the clean hydrogen initiative aligns with Nigeria’s long-term vision for a diversified and sustainable energy future, positioning the country to capitalize on emerging opportunities within the global low-carbon economy.
