Gov Inuwa Lauds Dr Pantami, As Minister Flags Off FGN Special Works Programme

The Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Gov Inuwa Yahaya has commended the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami for the role he has been playing in accelerating the development of Gombe State, describing him as a worthy ambassador.

The Governor said, “We thank the Honourable Minister, Dr Pantami for all he has been doing for Gombe State since he became a Minister. Adding that, I cannot count the number of developmental projects and programmes he has attracted to the state, he is a true ambassador of Gombe.

“The Honourable Minister, Dr Pantami has been instrumental in attracting so much development to Gombe State, we thank him, Gombe is highly appreciative”. He reiterated.

Gov Inuwa made the assertions today while making his remarks during the Flag-off of the Federal Government of Nigeria Extended Special Public Works (SPW) Programme (774,000 Jobs) at the State Level (Gombe).

The SPW programme was officially flagged off by the Honourable Minister, Dr Pantami who also served as the host of the event.

The Minister informed that the SPW programme is an initiative of the Federal Government aimed at curbing unemployment which he described as a time bomb and worrying situation.

Dr Pantami said, “The challenges of unemployment in Nigeria is a time bomb, this necessitated our decision in the ministry to shift our focus from producing potential employees but rather coming up with policies that will produce potential employers”.

A total of 11,000 citizens of Gombe State will benefit from the 3-month programme.
