LAGOS, Nigeria – The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Liberia in Lagos and Founding Partner of SimmonsCooper Partners, Dapo Akinosun (SAN), has held strategic discussions with the Managing Director of Ibom Air, Mr. George Uriesi, aimed at strengthening regional aviation cooperation and fostering economic integration across West Africa.
The courtesy visit, which took place on Friday, May 29, 2026, brought together Akinosun and other delegates to engage with the airline’s leadership on opportunities for collaboration between Liberia and Ibom Air.
Speaking after the meeting, Akinosun said discussions focused on the future of regional aviation and the critical role air transport plays in enhancing connectivity, facilitating trade, and creating economic opportunities across the sub-region.
According to him, improved air links between West African countries remain essential for driving investment, boosting tourism, and strengthening economic ties among nations within the region.
He also highlighted the importance of partnerships between governments and private sector aviation stakeholders in advancing regional integration and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Akinosun expressed appreciation to the management of Ibom Air for the warm reception accorded to the delegation and noted that the engagement could pave the way for mutually beneficial opportunities between Liberia and the airline.
The meeting underscores ongoing efforts to deepen regional cooperation and leverage aviation as a catalyst for economic development and cross-border connectivity in West Africa.
