Lagos — Dr. Folasade Femi-Lawal, a distinguished fintech executive and recognized voice in digital transformation, recently shared insights following her participation in the FirstBank International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration, hosted by the FirstBank Women Network.
The event brought together women across various levels of the organization to reflect on progress, foster collaboration, and strengthen professional bonds in a setting designed to encourage intentional engagement and support.
Dr. Femi-Lawal expressed appreciation for the leadership of the FirstBank Women Network, particularly Olaitan Martins and her successor Nneka Itabor, commending their continued commitment to sustaining a platform that empowers women within the institution.
The gathering also featured representation from FirstBank’s executive leadership, including Olusegun Alebiosu and Ini Ebong, whose presence underscored the bank’s institutional support for diversity and inclusion initiatives. Reconnecting with former colleagues and senior professionals, including Cecilia Akintomide and Bimbo Wright, Dr. Femi-Lawal described the moment as an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of the initiative and the relationships built over time.
She also recalled her role as Chairperson of the Planning Committee for the inaugural FirstBank IWD celebration in 2021/2022, noting that the platform has continued to grow through sustained collaboration and shared purpose.
