The National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr Vincent Olatunji, has been honoured with the Leadership in Digital Governance Award by the Abuja Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), in recognition of his exceptional contributions to digital governance, particularly in advancing data protection and privacy at the global level.
The award was presented during a working visit to the Commission by a delegation from the ISACA Abuja Chapter, led by its President, Mr Emmanuel Omoke.
Speaking during the visit, Mr Omoke commended the NDPC, under Dr Olatunji’s leadership, for its sustained support and collaboration with ISACA. He explained that the visit was to formally introduce the newly elected President of the Abuja Chapter, present the Code4Privacy Hackathon Report, and officially unveil the winners of the 2025 edition of the hackathon. He noted that the Code4Privacy Hackathon has gained international recognition, with plans underway to expand it to the global stage, adding that the 2025 winners are currently being mentored by ISACA.
In his response, Dr Olatunji warmly welcomed the delegation and highlighted the consistency and strength of the partnership between the NDPC and ISACA since inception. He described both organisations as partners in progress and commended ISACA for the Code4Privacy Hackathon, noting that it aligns with one of the Commission’s strategic roadmap pillars on ecosystem development and technology. He congratulated the hackathon winners and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence through innovation and continuous learning, while wishing them success in their future endeavours.
