The Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has today formally announced his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC). The move is described as a strategic alignment of the state with the ruling party at the federal level to accelerate development.

Governor Fubara stated that this decision is rooted in a firm belief in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and the Renewed Hope Agenda. He emphasized that the alignment is intended to harness federal partnerships to drive growth, stability, and comprehensive development in Rivers State.

“To everything under the sun, there is a time and season,” Governor Fubara said. “I am pleased to formally join the APC, primarily to align our dear state with the ruling party at the centre. We are confident that this synergy will rapidly contribute to the progress of Rivers State.”

The announcement coincided with significant infrastructural milestones, underscoring the benefits of state-federal cooperation. Governor Fubara, alongside the Honourable Minister of Aviation, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, officially commissioned the newly completed over 12.2km Airport–Igwuruta Road. This critical infrastructure project enhances both the aesthetics and economic potential of the Port Harcourt International Airport.

Building on this collaborative momentum, the Governor also flagged off the construction of a new 7.1km Ipo–Igwuruta bypass. This project is designed to ensure smooth access into host communities and create robust business opportunities for the populace.

Governor Fubara expressed optimism about the future, noting that the “fruitful synergy” already established with the Federal Government promises more transformative projects for the people of Rivers State.

Sir Siminialayi Fubara is the democratically elected Governor of Rivers State, committed to infrastructural development, economic growth, and improved welfare for all residents.
