The National Commissioner and CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), Dr. Vincent Olatunji, was represented by Babatunde Bamigboye, Esq., Head of Legal Enforcement and Regulation, during a recent courtesy visit from the Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO), led by President Mr. Duke Alamboye.
During the meeting, Bamigboye highlighted the Commission’s commitment to initiatives specifically aimed at youth development, which he described as crucial for the nation’s future. He underscored the importance of raising awareness about data protection and privacy, particularly given the myriad challenges young people face in the digital landscape.
Mr. Alamboye commended the NDPC for its youthful staff demographic, noting that it reflects an understanding of the significance of empowering the next generation. The Nigeria Youth Organisation is keen on collaborating with the Commission to promote sensitization and training programs. With a goal of empowering 10 million Nigerian youths, they expressed their eagerness to partner with the NDPC in its advocacy efforts and campaigns.
This initiative underscores the growing recognition of the need to champion privacy rights and equip young people with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of the digital world effectively.
