A Nigerian technology startup, Dinefolio, is gaining attention in the hospitality tech space after processing over ₦165 million in vendor revenue in March 2026, barely two months after its official launch.
Founded by tech entrepreneur David Orok, Dinefolio is designed as an all-in-one digital operating system for restaurants and hospitality businesses. The platform provides tools for digital ordering, inventory tracking, payment processing, and operational oversight.
The idea for the platform dates back to 2023 in Innopolis, Russia, where Orok encountered a fully automated dining experience using QR codes for ordering and payment. Inspired by the efficiency of the system, he envisioned adapting a similar solution for the Nigerian market.
Initial development began under the name “Depudia,” but the project was temporarily paused while Orok completed his university education. After graduating with a first-class degree in August 2024, he resumed work on the concept while also expanding his edtech initiative, Nocode Africa, which has trained thousands in no-code application development.
Momentum for Dinefolio accelerated in late 2025 after Orok identified emerging competition within Nigeria’s digital food service space. He subsequently rebuilt the platform and conducted on-ground research with restaurant operators in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to better understand industry challenges.
According to Orok, key issues affecting hospitality businesses include theft, inventory mismanagement, and operational inefficiencies. Dinefolio was developed to address these concerns through integrated systems that track orders, manage stock levels, and monitor staff activity across different stages of food production and sales.
The platform offers features such as QR-based digital menus, point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management tools, bookkeeping support, and analytics designed to improve profit visibility. It also includes a consumer-facing component that provides discounts and promotional offers to users.
Built by a team of seven, Dinefolio positions itself as a scalable solution for a wide range of hospitality businesses, including restaurants, hotels, lounges, and cafes.
As Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, solutions like Dinefolio reflect a growing trend of locally developed technologies aimed at improving operational efficiency in traditional industries. The company is currently seeking to expand its team, with a focus on growth marketing roles to support its next phase of development.
