NDPC Honours Institutions, Royal Ambassador at National Privacy Week 2026 Grand Finale
The 2026 National Privacy Week concluded in grand style as the (NDPC) hosted a Dinner and Awards Night at the in Abuja.
The event, which marked the climax of the week-long celebration, brought together top government officials, private sector leaders, civil society representatives, and industry stakeholders committed to advancing data protection and privacy in Nigeria.
Leading the occasion was the National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the NDPC, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, who attended with members of the Commission’s management and staff.
A key highlight of the evening was the conferment of the Data Privacy Royal Ambassador Award on His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, in recognition of his support and advocacy for data protection initiatives.
The (NYSC) emerged as the Most Compliant Public Sector Institution, while was named the Most Compliant Private Sector Organisation for its adherence to data protection regulations.
Also honoured was Mr. Tokunbo Smith, President of the (DKPPI), who received recognition for his collaboration and unwavering commitment to strengthening data privacy and protection in the country.
The awards ceremony underscored the NDPC’s ongoing efforts to promote compliance, accountability, and a robust data protection culture across Nigeria.
