Contrary to stereotypes, gender is proving irrelevant as Halima is being prepared to take the helm of the Dangote Group when her father eventually retires.
Halima, who works closely with her father, has emerged as a key figure within the conglomerate. During a recent tribute event at Eko Hotel, observers noted her active involvement in the family business, dispelling any doubts about her capability as a female leader.
Similarly, Tony Elumelu, the entrepreneur behind Transcorp Power, Transcorp Hotel, and UBA, is breaking the mold by grooming his firstborn, Oge, to lead the family’s vast business empire. This trend extends to other influential businessmen like Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi, whose daughter Judith is making her mark in the Peace Group conglomerate, overseeing operations at Peace Micro Finance Abuja.
These visionary businessmen, though not widely known for their progressive stance, are quietly reshaping societal expectations. They have chosen their daughters over sons as their successors, challenging the age-old belief that women are limited to traditional roles.
