President Tinubu’s Strategic Reforms Address Historical Power Imbalance: A Unifying Vision for Nigeria

In a bold move to address historical power imbalances, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has quietly implemented key reforms aimed at fostering a sense of national unity and inclusivity. Recognizing the skewed representation favoring the North, President Tinubu has strategically adjusted the power equation for the benefit of all Nigerians.

One significant reform is the reshuffling of the Department of State Services (DSS) leadership. Before President Tinubu’s tenure, the DSS was predominantly led by Northerners. However, with a subtle and strategic approach, President Tinubu has ensured a more balanced representation, with each geopolitical zone now having control over a directorate.

The reshuffling extends to the Nigeria Police, where state commands were previously dominated by Northerners. President Tinubu’s directive has led to a more equitable distribution, addressing the lopsided postings and providing Southern Nigerians with increased opportunities in leadership roles within the police force.

Moreover, President Tinubu’s commitment to diversity is evident in his appointment of the first and only Christian Southerner to substantially occupy the position of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
