“There is no woman on earth who truly enjoys polygamy,” Edu stated. “They’re only pretending, sometimes to enjoy a share of the fame or money the man possesses, and the majority are handcuffed by religion into accepting it. In their heart of hearts, no woman enjoys it, and no man who loves you will number you.”
Edu further emphasized that women who claim to embrace polygamy may be masking their true feelings, calling it “a lie from the pit of religious confusion.” She highlighted that, regardless of a man’s wealth, a woman’s innate desire is to have her partner exclusively to herself.
Recounting a poignant encounter, Edu shared the story of a woman she met three years ago who appeared to be content in a polygamous marriage but was secretly burdened by its demands. The woman had painted a picture of harmony, describing how her husband divided his time among his three wives, each living separately with their children. Despite her outward happiness, the reality of the arrangement revealed significant struggles.
“She was essentially living like a single parent, financing 70% of her bills while managing her children alone,” Edu explained. “One day, during a program, I noticed she was visibly distracted. I approached her, and in the privacy of a restroom, she broke down in tears. She confessed that if not for religious obligations, she wouldn’t have chosen such a relationship.”
The emotional revelation underscored the challenges many women in polygamous marriages face, even as they attempt to project contentment. Edu said such experiences fuel her advocacy for women’s empowerment and self-discovery.
“My focus is on helping the next woman discover herself,” she said. “You don’t have to accept any religious rules or societal expectations that don’t align with you. Throw them in the dustbin, live your life to the fullest, and the world will adjust. You will find happiness and attract your kind. Don’t let fear or societal norms hold you back.”
