Dr. Helen Nwanze is one of the founding mothers of autism intervention and speech acceleration in Nigeria.

Despite vision challenges, Dr. Nwanze served as senior research fellow at the prestigious Lagos University Teaching Hospital for upwards of a decade.

Through her Acceleration Therapy and team work with Linda Herbert, a home-grown, Nigerian made autism intervention model was birthed.

Dr. Nwanze’s doctoral dissertation at the University of Lagos Developmental Psychology program remains one of the most quintessential contributions to the developmental psychology literature.
