The Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday February 11, 2021, at the Wuse 2, Abuja honoured deserving staff and units for outstanding performance in 2020.
The event attended by heads of units, sections and team leaders was presided over by the Zonal Head, Ahmad Sa’ad Abubakar.
In his remarks, Sa’ad noted that the occasion was to appreciate the achievements of staff of the zone in 2020 despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Let me use this forum to appreciate and thank every staff for their efforts in striving to meet the Commission’s objectives despite all we went through last year.
“You have shown dedication, resilience and done so well, that out of the 14 zones, we emerged the 3rd best in recoveries despite the limitations of the lockdown”, Sa’ad said.
He presented, to the admiration of personnel, the award given to the Abuja Zone by the acting Chairman, Mohammed Umar Abba.
Subsequently, letters of commendation were presented to the Heads of Sections and Units in appreciation of their hard work in 2020. Cybercrime Section was presented with a plaque for having the highest convictions, while Counter Terrorism and General Investigation (CTGI) Section received theirs for recording the highest recovery.
