A new park in Winnipeg’s Bridgwater neighbourhood has been named in honor of Emeka Nnadi, an esteemed Igbo-Canadian architect, recognizing his significant contributions to the community. Emeka Nnadi Park marks a historic first as it is the first park in the city to be named after a member of Winnipeg’s African community.

Emeka Nnadi played a pivotal role in shaping the Bridgwater area, and this dedication serves as a testament to his efforts and impact. The city of Winnipeg celebrates this milestone, acknowledging the importance of diversity and the exceptional contributions of its residents.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Emeka Nnadi and the Igbo community,” said a city spokesperson. “This is a proud moment for all who strive to make positive contributions and distinguish themselves through goodwill and legitimate endeavors.”
