The fashion industry is growing in leaps and bounds in Nigeria, worth billions of dollars annually, but many of the small players in the industry are not benefiting from this exposure and boom.

For many fashion enthusiasts, pursuing a career in the fashion industry seems like a dream come true. The idea of designing beautiful garments and creating unique styles that make people feel confident and beautiful is what draws many to the industry. However, it takes more than just creativity and passion to succeed as a fashion entrepreneur. It requires a solid understanding of business principles and strategies that can help drive sales and grow a successful fashion business.

Speaking to a group of journalists during a press conference, the founder and chief executive officer of Mykmary Fashion House, Micheal Onyemah, said “in today’s fashion industry, to sustain a fashion business over time, it is necessary to have a steady stream of customers. This necessitates a focus on brand development, cultivating loyal customers, and consistent marketing and selling of your services and products. Sewing is a valuable skill, but it is not enough to make a profitable business. The ability to market and sell products and services is what generates revenue and builds a sustainable business. There is a need for fashion business owners to be empowered with tools and the know-how to improve their businesses’ sales, increase revenue and help their businesses get off to a flying start. Our goal is to ensure that fashion business owners can automate their sales and multiply business profits, which in turn enables them to run a business that can fund their desired lifestyle.

“This is where Michael Onyemah, a fashion business advocate, comes in. For the past three years, Michael has been organizing fashion shows and award ceremonies, where he has interacted with numerous fashion entrepreneurs. He has discovered that while many of these entrepreneurs are skilled at designing and creating beautiful garments, they often lack the necessary business acumen to succeed in the industry.May be an image of 13 people, people standing and indoor

To bridge this gap, Michael has decided to start an online fashion business school called Mykmary Fashion Business School. Through the fashion business school, he aims to empower fashion entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skills they need to run successful fashion businesses. He believes that by equipping these entrepreneurs with business skills, they can turn their passion into a profitable venture.

The school offers a wide range of courses that meets the pain point of fashion business owners which includes generating high-quality leads, brand positioning, Content creation strategies, building business system and structure, business branding, and planning among others.

The courses are designed to provide fashion entrepreneurs with practical skills that they can apply to their businesses. The school also offers mentorship programs, where students can interact with experienced fashion entrepreneurs who can guide them on their entrepreneurial journey.

Michael’s dedication to the fashion industry has not gone unnoticed. His efforts have been recognized by the industry, and he has received numerous awards for his contributions. His work has been featured in several national and international publications, and he has been invited to speak at various fashion events.

As the fashion industry continues to evolve, Michael’s passion for powering fashion entrepreneurs remains unwavering. Through Mykmary Fashion Business School, he hopes to inspire a new generation of fashion entrepreneurs who not only have the passion and creativity but also the business skills to succeed.

Michael Onyemah is a true champion of the fashion industry. His dedication to empowering fashion entrepreneurs through Mykmary Fashion Business School is a testament to his commitment to the industry. With his passion, expertise, and dedication, he is transforming the fashion industry, one entrepreneur at a time.

Mykmary Fashion was created with the motive of promoting indigenous fashion brands and connecting them to the international market. And ever since then, they have been working to add value and interpret the African fashion business to the world at large.

Garmin smartwatches will play an important role in an upcoming Polaris Dawn human spaceflight, with highly accurate health data gleaned from fēnix® 7 adventure watches providing 24/7 insights into the impact of space travel on the human body. During the up to five-day mission launched from the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, researchers will continuously monitor and collect crew members’ biometrics such as heart rate, pulse oximetry, and sleep patterns—all on a single battery charge.

“Garmin is honored to be a part of this exciting research effort that will advance the understanding of how the human body adapts to the rigors of space flight,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global sales. “The exceptional battery life of our smartwatches will allow researchers the opportunity to continuously monitor all four crew members while awake and at rest over the five-day mission—with no down time needed to recharge the battery.”

The Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) at Baylor College of Medicine is supporting health and biomedical research aboard the historic Polaris Dawn mission, which will attempt to reach the highest Earth orbit ever flown with humans and complete the first-ever commercial spacewalk. The Polaris Dawn crew and the TRISH team chose Garmin smartwatches for the mission because of their long battery life, rugged durability and extensive suite of all-day health monitoring features.

“The trove of biometric data provided by Garmin fēnix smartwatches will allow us to better understand how the body adjusts to being in space,” said Jimmy Wu, TRISH senior biomedical engineer. “Once collected, this physiological data will be added to TRISH’s EXPAND database, aiding current and future research to study and understand human health and performance for all future human space exploration missions.”

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Polaris Dawn crew aboard a Dragon spacecraft from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL later in 2023.

Ten years from now, some Ladies you know will be like Chimamanda ,Okonjo Iweala and Awele Elumelu. Famous, celebrated and renowned. While some others will be like Maheeda, Cossy Orjiakor and Mia kalifa. Dissed , disgraced and disowned. You are young now and your body is tight…we know.

But why are you acting like it’s only the things on your chest and between your legs that can give you relevance.I saw a comment on Awele’s wall….were someone went “it’s her body and she lives in the western world, that how they do there”.

This is some one who hasn’t crossed the pacific. In case you are not aware, the western world is just like every other world… they have the aristocrats, the nobility, and the PLEBEIANS.

You will never come upon an Aristocrat carrying on in a trashy manner, or sharing nudes for clout and fame. That behavior is reserved for the plebeians , the low lives, the trailer park trash- in every society.

Come back to Nigeria…as wild as DJ cuppy seems to be, you will never see her revel in nudity and trashiness-because she is from nobility. She is UPPER CLASS. I can bet she has visited and lived in every continent of the world…but her respect and carriage is as intact as a descendant of the King of England. Show me any upper class Nigerian woman who goes about celebrating her nudes?

NONE.

NEVER.

They are all busy working to get a foot into the corridors of power where the owners of Nigeria belong. In 20 years…everyone that is above 20 right now will be above 40… Do you want to be an example people show their kids to prevent them from ending up a disgrace or do you want to be celebrated as a standard woman worldwide?

Today, Cossy Orjiakor and her likes can not stand up where great women are standing.Heck, she can’t even be invited to the same functions with them. And her famous breasts are no longer young so the lecherous men who made her popular have all moved on.

While the women no one heard about way back then because they were underground working with their brains and their hands are now the movers and shakers, walking in and out of the World bank, and the Oval Office ,meeting with world leaders who pay rapt attention to the words that come out from their lips.

When women like Chimamanda Adichie or Okonjo Iweala stand before men…it’s in the greatest offices of the world…imparting knowledge and making powerful impressions…when women like Cossy Orjiakor are mentioned, it’s all beer parlor talk about body parts and body fluids.

I am not your mother. I am not here to advice you. I just want to remind you that every action you are taking now is leading you to the place you will be in 20 years time.

Don’t end up in a dingy place watching the women you knew as young girls, take over the world stage, while all you can boast of are some really really hot dancing nudes on the internet.

But if that’s where you want to be…Who am I to tell you otherwise ☺️☺️☺️

Welcome to wonderful Thursday!!

Medium and small businesses (MSMESs) have been noted to be pivotal to any economic development. The Federal Government of Nigeria realise the crucial role they play in scaling of the economy and has devoted much energy to ensure that enabling environment are created for them to thrive in the country.

Having said the,the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof Osibanjo said in a post that “MSMEs are the engine room of the Nigerian economy and the Federal Government remains deeply committed to creating a more business friendly environment for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to thrive.”

“One of the ways, the FG has shown its commitment is through the MSME Clinics Initiative. The Clinic extends business support services to small businesses across the country. The MSMEs Shared Facility Scheme is a core component”, he added.

“I was pleased to virtually commission the Eko Fashion Hub 1. It is a Fashion Cluster Shared Facility for MSMEs. The cluster seeks to provide high-quality operating equipment which small businesses can access at a reasonable cost, within a conducive space”,on the commissioning of a fashion hub in Lagos.

The Eko Fashion Hub 1 is strategically located by the old Alade market, just off the Allen Avenue roundabout, one of the leading commercial hubs on the continent and is equipped with first-rate machines and equipment. I am told it will service 380 MSMEs daily, & 136,800 yearly.

The choice of Alade Market and the general Allen Avenue area was a unanimous one arising from extensive consultations between the Federal Government’s MSME Clinics project, the Lagos State Government and the fashion cluster in Lagos.

“With its full-scale production line, this hub will enable production of a diverse range of clothing and garments. Very soon, the products of the hub will be ubiquitous on the streets and in stores around the country”, he added.

On the role of the president on the scaling of businesses Osibanjo added that President @MBuhari has also approved the implementation of the MSME Survival Fund as part of the ESP to cushion the impact of COVID19. The Fund is a payroll support scheme which will provide 50,000 in monthly salaries to staff of qualifying businesses for 3 months.
