He commended their contributions to the success of the conference, which took place at the prestigious <strong data-start=\"895\" data-end=\"921\">Transcorp Hilton Hotel<\/strong> in Abuja.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"933\" data-end=\"1118\">\n<p data-start=\"935\" data-end=\"1118\">\u201cWe are honoured to host this year\u2019s AGM and deeply appreciate the shared commitment of member nations to foster a culture of data protection across the continent,\u201d Dr. Olatunji said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1441\">Throughout the multi-day gathering, extensive deliberations highlighted the collective resolve of African nations to entrench data privacy as a cultural and institutional norm. Delegates discussed cross-border collaboration, legal frameworks, and capacity building, among other key issues in the digital governance space.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1684\">Countries represented at the AGM included <strong data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1683\">Nigeria, Angola, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Morocco, The Gambia, Cape Verde, South Africa, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Ghana, Eswatini, Mali, Mauritania, Benin, Senegal, Somalia, Uganda, Chad, Zambia, and Zimbabwe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1686\" data-end=\"1912\">In a significant development, <strong data-start=\"1716\" data-end=\"1733\">C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire<\/strong> was announced as the next host for the <strong data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1827\">2026 edition of the NADPA-RAPDP Conference and AGM<\/strong>, a testament to its growing leadership in the continent\u2019s data governance landscape.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"2091\">The Network of African Data Protection Authorities continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Africa\u2019s digital future through shared values, policies, and strategic engagement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0The 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NADPA-RAPDP) was held in Abuja, drawing participation from 20 member nations across the continent.
