The Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida, has reiterated his commitment to leveraging technology, infrastructure, and innovation to advance Nigeria\u2019s digital economy.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the Commission\u2019s vision, Dr. Maida emphasized the importance of aligning with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (2020-2030) to drive sustainable growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn accepting the opportunity to lead the Commission, I expressed my full commitment to supporting the Honorable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani\u2019s vision for a thriving digital economy,\u201d Maida stated.<\/p>\n
Dr. Maida outlined his priorities, which include enhancing consumer experience, expanding broadband infrastructure, and fostering innovation to ensure sustainable growth within the telecommunications sector. \u201cWith collaboration from all stakeholders, we will drive quality service delivery, broadband expansion, and innovative solutions for a stronger industry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The EVC highlighted human capital as a core asset for achieving these goals. \u201cOur people remain our greatest asset. We will nurture and invest in their skills and capabilities to lead the changes required in the telecoms industry,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He also stressed the role of collaboration and data-driven decision-making in achieving the NCC\u2019s objectives. \u201cWe will adopt a co-creative regulatory approach, using data to promote transparency, reduce subjectivity, and drive innovation across the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
On accountability, Dr. Maida stated, \u201cThe Commission will meticulously monitor licensee activities to ensure efficient service delivery across the entire value chain.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further emphasized the importance of digitalization in enhancing productivity and efficiency. \u201cWith the right team, structure, and processes, we will design systems that reduce waste, improve productivity, and meet stakeholder expectations,\u201d Maida concluded.<\/p>\n
Under Dr. Maida\u2019s leadership, the NCC is focused on transforming Nigeria\u2019s telecommunications sector and positioning the country as a leader in the global digital economy.<\/p>\n
