He stressed the critical need for robust data protection and privacy measures to mitigate such risks.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity, Bamgboye noted, <em>\u201cWhile AI has an important role to play in cybersecurity, human oversight remains essential to ensure that the rights of data subjects are safeguarded and not infringed upon.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bamgboye also underscored the Nigerian government\u2019s commitment to data protection, citing the Nigeria Data Protection Act signed into law by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023.
