Isn’t that enough to celebrate?” Ojo stated. “Our legends need to be celebrated while they are still alive, and that is why I decided to embark on this project. Soyinka’s life is nothing short of extraordinary, and this film is a way to honor him while he can witness it.”

The film stars some of Nollywood’s finest, including Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Branch, Ibrahim Chatta, Jide Kosoko, Segun Arinze, and Joke Muyiwa. But I refused to let this stop me. This film is too important.”

Ojo also spoke about the meticulous set design, which included a detailed replica of Kiri-Kiri prison where Soyinka was once imprisoned. “Building the set was a massive undertaking, but it was vital for the film’s authenticity,” he explained.

A Story Beyond the Legend

“Wole Soyinka” delves deeper than a mere recount of the Nobel Laureate’s achievements. Ojo emphasized that the film reveals lesser-known aspects of Soyinka’s life. “There’s more to Soyinka than the public figure.
