Eight-Week Initiative Sparks Digital Hope and Opportunity in Abeokuta
For over 500 young people in Ogun State, the past eight weeks have marked a turning point — one defined by new skills, renewed confidence, and fresh possibilities in Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
Yesdin Technologies Limited has successfully concluded an intensive digital empowerment programme that trained participants in Data Analysis and WordPress Development, equipping them with practical, job-ready technology skills. The programme, which began on September 1 and was held in Abeokuta, was designed exclusively for youths in Ogun State.
Sponsored by Borderless Tek and powered by Hon. Nasiru Ayotunde, the initiative represents a strategic collaboration between the private technology sector and public leadership aimed at tackling youth unemployment through structured digital education.
For many participants, the training was their first formal exposure to the world of technology beyond basic phone usage or social media.
“This programme has changed how I see my future,” said one participant at the closing session. “Before now, I didn’t think I could build a website or analyze data. Today, I have completed projects I can proudly show to clients.”
Throughout the eight weeks, participants were immersed in practical learning sessions. Those in the Data Analysis track learned how to organize and clean datasets, interpret information, create visual reports, and apply analytics tools to real-world scenarios. Meanwhile, the WordPress Development cohort learned how to design and structure websites, manage digital content, deploy sites online, and build functional business platforms from scratch.
By the end of the programme, several participants had developed live websites and completed practical data analysis projects — tangible evidence of the skills they acquired.
