STRENGHTENING LOCAL ECONOMIES: MAYOR OF AGUATA ANNOUNCES PLAN FOR UGA COMMUNITY TO BENEFIT FROM NEW PALM OIL PROCESSING MILL
The Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, has initiated plans for the construction of a Community Palm Oil Processing Mill in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area, as part of efforts to strengthen local agricultural production and economic activities.
The project, once completed, will be handed over to the community to ensure that residents have access to affordable and well regulated palm oil processing services. This initiative is expected to ease the burden on local farmers and processors while improving the efficiency of palm oil production in the area.
According to the Mayor, the structural design and scope of the facility have already been concluded, while his team are currently finalizing decisions on the specific processing machines that will be installed before full construction begins.
The project forms part of the #AGreaterAguata Agenda, which focuses on delivering impactful public infrastructure capable of improving livelihoods across communities in Aguata Local Government Area.
