Anita Anosike, a certified project management professional, is opening up about the realities of starting over in Canada and the resilience required to rebuild both life and career in a new country.
Anosike, who holds a Master of Science degree and professional credentials including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), said her arrival in Canada was marked by both optimism and unexpected challenges.
“I expected a fresh start,” she shared. “But I didn’t anticipate how much strength it would take to rebuild my life in a new place, especially in Winnipeg.”
Adjusting to Canada’s climate, unfamiliar systems, and professional landscape proved more demanding than she had imagined. The transition, she said, brought moments of doubt about whether she would regain her footing in a competitive job market.
Despite the difficulties, Anosike leaned into her passion for project management as a source of direction and stability. She went on to earn her PMP and ScrumMaster certifications, further strengthening her qualifications and aligning her experience with Canadian industry standards.
Her professional focus remains centered on bringing teams together, creating clarity in complex environments, and transforming ideas into measurable outcomes.
Now based in Winnipeg, Anosike says she is intentionally rebuilding her career, expanding her skills for the Canadian workplace, and connecting with professionals who value collaboration and continuous learning. She is currently open to opportunities in project and product management, as well as strategic partnerships.
In sharing her story, Anosike hopes to encourage other newcomers and professionals navigating career transitions.
