Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group CEO of NNPC Limited, recently conducted an on-site visit to the starting point of the landmark Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project, accompanied by the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo.
The visit emphasized the critical national significance of the AKK Gas Pipeline Project. “This administration is unwavering in its commitment to delivering this project on schedule,” Ojulari stated. “As the Honourable Minister noted, this infrastructure is more than just a pipeline—it is the backbone of Nigeria’s future economic growth. Once completed, it will unlock unprecedented opportunities, energize our industries, empower our communities, and strengthen the nation’s energy security and industrial development.”
Ojulari also praised the dedication of the project team, noting that their collective efforts—totaling thirty-one million man-hours—are shaping a lasting legacy. “The AKK Pipeline represents a cornerstone of our industrial heritage and a deliberate shift toward a future of resurgence,” he said. “By leveraging gas as a transition fuel, we are laying the foundation for sustainable prosperity and asserting our readiness to power our own destiny.”
The AKK Gas Pipeline Project is poised to play a transformative role in Nigeria’s energy landscape, reinforcing the nation’s industrial capacity while contributing to long-term economic development.
