The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nigeria, His Excellency Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, was received by Governor Hope Uzodimma at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro in a meeting aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.
The discussions centered on exploring opportunities for Imo State to benefit from the long-standing bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Iran. Key areas of focus included attracting foreign investment, building local capacity, and fostering sustainable economic growth across the state.
Governor Uzodimma highlighted the importance of strategic international partnerships in driving infrastructural development, boosting job creation, and diversifying the state’s economic base. He noted that engagement with Iran could open avenues in sectors such as agriculture, technology, energy, and industrial development, which would provide long-term benefits for the citizens of Imo State.
“The insights shared during this meeting will significantly support our ongoing efforts to position Imo State as a hub for investment and innovation,” Governor Uzodimma said.
“Strengthening these partnerships is critical to accelerating development, creating opportunities, and improving the quality of life for our people.”
