Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare and safety of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state. This followed a courtesy visit by the NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, and his delegation.
According to the governor, the meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to assess facilities, review ongoing improvements, and strengthen collaboration aimed at enhancing the corps members’ experience. Governor Fubara described the engagement as “productive,” noting that it allowed for open interaction and evaluation of key infrastructure supporting the NYSC scheme in the state.
He emphasized that Rivers people remain “warm, peaceful and welcoming,” reaffirming the state’s commitment to upgrading camp facilities, expanding essential amenities, and sustaining allowances that make national service in the state “truly rewarding.”
The governor also highlighted Rivers State’s pride in hosting the NYSC regional office, assuring that his administration would continue to provide a conducive environment to ensure its smooth and efficient operations.
