Nigeria’s Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Olu Arowolo Verheijen, participated in a high-level panel discussion on the second day of the ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference 2025, emphasizing the importance of strategic government policies in driving sustainable energy growth.
The session, titled “Incentivising Sustainable Growth Through Government Energy Policies,” brought together prominent global energy leaders, including H.E. Khalifa Abdulsadek, Minister of Oil & Gas, Libya; Hon. Chiekh Niane, Vice Minister of Energy, Petroleum & Mines, Senegal; and H.E. Jimena Latorre, Minister of Energy & Environment, Government of Mendoza, Argentina. The panel was moderated by veteran energy journalist John Defterios.
During the discussion, Verheijen highlighted how well-crafted policies can attract investment, accelerate the energy transition, and promote sustainable economic development across regions. She underscored the need for collaboration, innovation, and regional partnerships to ensure that energy reforms are inclusive and future-focused.
